Identity Theft Shield Now Covers Dependents
Starting January 2, 2014, the Identity Theft Shield now covers the member and spouse plus up o 8 eligible dependents.
Addition of dependents coverage has been an added service in the past, but is now incorporated into the basic Identity Theft Shield.
Among the individuals most likely to have their identity stolen are children and young adults. That is due to the fact that the very young are not likely to be looking for credit approval, loans, or credit cards. Thus, when someone uses their social security number to establish credit cards or otherwise use their identity, it is unlikely that the theft will be noticed for several years. Then, when they get old enough to apply for credit, or even get student loans, they will find that their credit has been destroyed.
Since any disputed charges must be reported within 60 days, in order to avoid being held responsible for the debt, these debts become difficult to correct and have cleaned off the credit records.
Don't let your children be the victims of Identity Theft, and have their credit ruined. Get your own Identity Theft Shield to protect yourself and your entire family. This plan is available in all states. Coverage is slightly different in Canada.
The plan now covers eligible dependents, living at home, or full time students, never-married, up to age 26.
